Protecting Your Constitutional Rights

Wittels McInturff Palikovic routinely litigates damages actions on behalf of individuals who have been deprived of their constitutional rights.  Whether our clients are confined in prisons and jails, are arrestees who have been subjected to unconstitutional abuse by police officers, or are former inmates who continue to suffer as the result of systematic discrimination, we vigorously protect the rights of our clients.

Our practice builds upon the remedial impact of the injunctive relief obtained in the class action context (such as greater training of officers and use of security cameras) combined with the filing of individual damages actions in order to effect change and reduce the incentive for unconstitutional conduct.

Some examples of WMP lawyers’ work include representation of the family of an inmate who died in custody due to complications from sickle-cell anemia.  WMP lawyers also represented an inmate who was assaulted by prison guards and subsequently denied timely and appropriate medical attention for his injuries, including a serious facial fracture.
