Wittels McInturff Palikovic is investigating numerous complaints regarding HomeFi’s potentially illegal practice of luring customers into paid subscriptions by deceptively advertising “WIFI ANYWHERE” that “Works nationwide!”  Consumers complain that HomeFi’s service does not work in remote locations—the precise service it advertises—and that it is difficult or impossible to cancel their automatically renewing subscriptions.

HomeFi advertises to its customers that it offers “FAST & SECURE DATA” at “4G LTE WiFi speeds” and that the service “[w]orks nationwide” and “Anywhere You Choose To Live” and that it will “ensure you have high-speed internet connection wherever you are.”  However, customers have complained that the service “totally tanked,” “has not worked since I received it,” and that users “can’t access internet” because the “WiFi doesn’t work.”

Upon investigation, evidence suggests that when HomeFi users get fed up with the service, HomeFi’s cancellation process is designed to prevent customers from cancelling.  These deceptive design techniques include over-complicated navigation menus and requiring users to request cancellation multiple times before the cancellation is in fact processed.

Consumer complaints also accuse HomeFi of charging customers after they have attempted to cancel service.  Customers have said the “company really doesn’t have customer service” and that the “company is a complete fraud/scam.”  Customers have complained that the “14 day no hassle trial is a lie” because it is difficult or impossible to get a refund.  Other customers advise to “AVOID AT ALL COSTS!” and that it is an “ABSOLUTE SCAM” and “One of the WORST rip-offs in WIFI.”

If you are or were previously a HomeFi customer and you were charged without your knowledge or consent, or had difficulty trying to cancel your membership, or were not given the service you were promised, you are not alone!  We urge you to contact a class action attorney at WMP for a free case evaluation.  Should a lawsuit be brought, there is no cost or fee involved in joining the case.  You can contact us by clicking here, calling (914) 775-8862, or emailing us at case@wittelslaw.com.
